h33t - My Dying Bride - For Darkest Eyes DVD [rockbox]

My Dying Bride was formed in Halifax in the north of England in June 1990 after lead guitarist Andrew Craighan left his former band Abiosis to join Aaron Stainthorpe (vocals), Calvin Robertshaw (guitar) and Rick Miah (drums).

Without doubt the biggest Doom juggernaut to this day. My Dying Bride is the best known of the famous "Peaceville three" and for a large part responsible for the second generation of Doom-metal bands (Death/Doom). They also still stand as the biggest example of this style and are an inspiration for dozens of other bands that followed in their wake. Their album 'Turn Loose the Swans' is one of the most important Death/Doom-metal releases and should not be missing from any Doom freak's collection. The band was one of the first, if not the first, to use a full time violinist to compliment their music and experimented with the combination of grunts and clean vocals at a very early point in their musical career. Earlier work has more of a death/metal feel to it while later work became more accessible. After their experimental '34.788%...Complete', which is not representative of the rest of their work, they seem to have returned to their roots on 'The Light at the end of the World', but without a violinist, as he left after 'Like Gods of the Sun'.

For Darkest Eyes is My Dying Bride's fist video release. Created first as a VHS in 1997, then later being reproduced as a DVD in 2002 however it was given 2 different version of the front cover. Live footage from Willem II, The Netherlands in 1993 on November 3, the picture gallery and the live song Sear Me done in Simplon 1992 do not appear on the video version due to time constriaints of the old VHS format.
