DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.26.6 (200 + Crack [h33t] [Original]

Background
Welcome to DVD-Rebuilder!
BACKGROUND
Over the course of the past couple of years DVD ripping techniques have changed dramatically. Newer "one click" programs have made backing up a DVD a fairly simple process... but there is a significant trade-off. The quality that can be attained by even the best of these programs is poor in comparison to original techniques that used Cinemacraft Encoder, TMPGEnc, or other top-notch encoders.
The reason is simple. When using one of these encoders the picture is rebuilt from scratch and optimized for the resulting bit rate. One-touch transcoders usually change quantization and/or motion info in order to lower the bit rate. This can result in pixelation and poor overall picture.
But, man, they sure are convenient.
That's where DVD ReBuilder (DVD-RB) comes in. This program was built to bridge the gap between the incredibly easy but limited "one-click" solutions and the incredibly complex but high-quality methods of DVD ripping and backup.
Another advantage of DVD-RB when compared to older methods is that it doesn't require access to an expensive authoring package. DVD-RB includes its own reauthoring engine that reconstructs the DVD in a way compatible with its original design. jdobbs
DVD ReBuilder v1.26.6 Author: JDOBBS Copyright (c) 2004-2008 by jdobbs softworks. All rights reserved. CHANGES MADE TO PRO VERSION
- Corrected a bug in which the MPEG2DEC_OPTS parameters were not being applied during Q analysis. This could, in some cases, result in an error.
- Added code to MOBILE encoding to prevent identical PGCs from being reencoded redundantly (duplicates).
- Added more granularity to the matrix selections. Now you can choose matrices for High (4000Kbs), MedHigh (3500), Med (3000) in addition to those already selectable.
- Corrected an error in which having CCE SP2 installed by itself did not activate the "CCE Mode" under the ENCODERS menu.
- Fixed an error in which loading a project file would not reset the "HC_FOR_REDIST" flag.
- Fixed a bug in which the OPV subroutine could cause a size error caused by an incorrect maximum bitrate. This could also cause anomalies in REDISTRIBUTION passes.
- Added code to adjust for an issue in which audio sync could be off for MOBILE encoding for some oddly formatted discs.
- Changed the MOBILE settings so that any specified bitrate less than 50 is considered a Q value rather than 31 (for compatibility with H264 Q values). Illegal values on codecs that accept no more than 31 are automatically limited.
- Added NicMP3Box.exe to the full (MOBILE) installer package. This allows DVD-RB to create H264 files (using FFMPEG) in the MOBILE encoding mode that are compatible with the IPOD. NicMP3Box is called automatically when the IPOD_H264 codec is selected.
- Added two new profiles to the MOBILE.INI file. These allow you to take advantage of the H264 (high quality) format when creating output for the IPOD. Say "yes" to overwriting your MOBILE.INI file in order to see the new profiles.
- Updated the installation package to include HC Encoder v0.22 which includes several improvements over previous versions.
- Updated the installer to include ECLPRO v1.11.
- Other minor and cosmetic changes.
Guide:
MOST OF THIS GUIDE WAS RETRIEVED FROM DOOM9.ORG
PURPOSE:
This software is designed to be used as a method of backing up DVDs. Note the wording: It is NOT meant to be used as a tool for stealing copyrighted material -- but instead for LEGALLY creating backups of DVDs that you own.
You may want to read the background page first
Things you need to make this work (all are free):
- DVD Decrypter or another ripping program (if backing up encrypted DVDs)
- DVD2AVI installed (Donald Graft version preferred -- it doesn't lose frames)
- AVISYNTH installed (Version 2.5 or above recommended)
- Decomb
Supported Encoders:
- Cinemacraft Encoder (Highest quality -- the Basic version is available for $59) Highly recommended.
- ReJig by NIC (Free) -- this is actually a high-quality high-speed transcoder
- QuEnc by NIC (Free) -- a good quality encoder, the best you'll get for free -- Version 0.47 or above is required.
- TMPGENC (Planned support)
- Others -- I hope to support other encoders based upon demand.
INSTALLATION:
Note: Where and how you load software is, of course, your business. I've found, however, that creating a directory under "C rogram Files" called "DVD-RIP" is a good way to organize my ripping related software. Just specify that directory as the installation path for software mentioned below.
1. Download and install AVISYNTH. -- at the time of this writing the most current version was v2.54
which has been tested and is completely compatible with DVD-RB.
2. Download and install DVD Decrypter. Follow the instructions. At the time of this writing the current version was 3.2.2.0 -- and it has been tested and works great with DVD-RB.
3. Next, you must have a copy of MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL installed on your computer. download DVD2AVI dg. It (at this writing) is contained in a ZIP file DECODEFIX100.ZIP. Open that zip and within you will find a file called MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL. Copy that file into a directory called "PlugIns" under the AVISYNTH directory (created in step 1). Putting it there could save you lots of possible headaches later!

4. There -- that's all the support software needed -- but you need one more thing. You have to have (your choice) an encoder. My top recommendation is Cinemacraft Encoder Basic for the best quality output imaginable. This software is available at a cost of $59.
But -- that isn't the only choice! To keep the cost at zero, DVD-RB supports two additional software packages. Both were developed by Nic, based upon publicly available sources. They are ReJig and QuEnc.
5. Last, but not least. Install DVD-RB. All you need to do is create a directory somewhere (as I mentioned earlier, possibly in C rogram FilesDVD-RIP) and copy Rebuilder.exe into that folder. You may also want to create a shortcut on your desktop.
Before starting:
1. First, use DVD-Decrypter to rip the entire DVD, not just the movie to your hard drive. Use file mode and take note of the output directory. You will need it for DVD-RB.

2. The first thing to do is configure DVD-RB. Press Options - Setup to access the setup menu.

Under Application Paths, enter the paths to the MPEG-2 encoders you have installed. You don't have to fill in everything like I did, just add the encoder you actually plan to use.
You can leave Path MPEG2DEC3DG empty if you've put this file in the AviSynth plugin directory. If you encounter errors with your AviSynth scripts, try adding the path anyway, and check Add to AVS File.
The Path to DECOMB.DLL is also not be required if you've added decomb.dll to your AviSynth plugin directory. However, if you're getting problems when using deinterlacing, try specifying the path.
Under Special Settings, check Run Encoder(s) Minimized, so that in case you plan to use your PC while DVD-RB is working, you wont' have to fight with a lot of programs blocking your screen.
And if you don't like the color of the program, you can change it using the Background Color palette.
Then we have Audio to Remove which should be pretty self-explanatory. By default, DVD-RB will keep all audio tracks that are on the DVD. But, if you only want to include certain tracks (for instance I've chosen to only include English, French and German), click on Check All, then uncheck the languages you want to keep. Finally, press Save to save the selection (otherwise, DVD-RB will discard it once you've exited the program).
Checking Remove all DTS would remove any DTS audio streams found on a DVD.
Then press Done to get back to the main screen.
Now let's have a look at the other menus, starting with Mode:

Here you select which encoder is going to be used: CCE, ReJig or QuEnc.
If Verbose Status Window is checked, the status panel will contain extra information.
One Click Mode enables you to perform the entire rebuild process with the click of one button: the transcode button (you'll see it in just a second).
Dynamically Assign Cell Bitrates makes DVD-RB analyze the bitrate of each cell of the original DVD, and use a proportional bitrate for the encoded cells. If not enabled, each cell will have the same bitrate.
Suppress Warning Prompts is useful in One Click Mode. It prevents DVD-RB from displaying any warning prompts that could require your attention (and stop a project in progress). Obviously, this is somewhat dangerous so it's probably a good idea to do a few projects without this, to get to know what warning messages you might get.
Then let's have another look at the Options menu:

As you can see, this also enables us to access the properties for our MPEG-2 encoders, and the options for AviSynth.
First, the AVS Options:

ConvertToYUY2() converts the video to YUY2 colorspace before encoding. This should be enabled if you're using CCE (for more infos, check the CCE FAQ, Q14.4)
AudioDub(BlankClip()) is a workaround for a bug in certain CCE versions. Enable this if you're using CCE 2.5 and have an AMD CPU.
There's another level in that menu, accessible if you click on Advanced (Expert) Options:

When dealing with interlaced content, you can enable Deinterlace with DECOMB, which uses Decomb's fielddeinterlace to deinterlace the video. This slows down encoding.
Disable "Interlaced=True" in YUY2 can be used to change the way ConvertToYUY2 is used. By default, the option Interlaced=True is used, but this can lead to a slight color shift, so you might want to disable this operation when dealing with purely progressive content.
Resize to Half D1 triggers resizing of all VTS sets to half the standard resolution. While half D1 is part of the DVD specifications, not all players like it so be careful.
Convert from LB 4:3 to 16:9 allows you to turn letterboxed 4:3 sources to a 16:9 anamorphic widescreen picture.
Back in the Options menu, we have the CCE Options:

The first thing to do here (in case you're using CCE) is select the proper CCE version. CCE SP 2.67 users should check CCE SP 2.66+
Advanced (Expert) Settings allow you to configure certain CCE parameters:

VBR_Bias controls how CCE distributes the bitrate. During the first CCE pass, the bitrate is distributed to achieve constant quality. The bias determines how much weight is given towards keeping that allocation. High values prevent high bitrate fluctuations in between GOPs, and low values give CCE more freedom to use bits in highly demanding areas.
VBR_passes indicates the number of CCE passes. This has to be 2 for CCE Basic. For all other CCE versions, note that if you use X passes when setting up CCE manually, enter X+1 here as CCE SP does not count the creation of the vaf file as one pass.
Quality_prec corresponds to Image Quality Priority in CCE 2.50, and Quantizer characteristics in CCE 2.66/2.67. The value ranges from 0 - 64 (as in CCE 2.66+), but is scaled to 0-100 when using CCE 2.50 (so if you're a CCE 2.50 user and have set this parameter to X, you have to enter X*64/100 in DVD-RB). This setting determines if CCE gives priority to image details, or evenly colored areas. The lower the value, the more priority will be given to details, which could result in blockyness or banding in other areas. A high value will result in good looking evenly colored areas, but could result in edge artifacts.
Press Done to get back.
When using QuEnc, you might want configure the QuEnc Options in the Options menu:

Trellis Quantization can help improve quality, at the expense of speed. KVCD "Notch" Matrix is a custom quantizer matrix, and as with most custom matrices, the use is debatable.
There is currently nothing to be configured in the Rejig menu so you can skip that, which means we're done with the setup.
3. Now it's time to select our source. Press the folder button, and select your VIDEO_TS folder on your virtual Drive, or the folder DVD Decrypter ripped your files too. DVD-RB will list all VTS sets contained on the DVD, and the audio streams that you did not select for exclusion:

The next thing to do is select a working path. You need at least twice the size of a DVD±R in your working path (in case of ReJig it's 4 times the size of a DVD±R)

***** METHOD ONE *****
4. If you are using ReJig, QuEnc, or CCE Version 2.66 or above, you can select "One Click" under the "Options Menu" -- by doing so all actions will occur automatically with the push of one "Transcode" button. If you are using CCE 2.50 or a Trial Version you may want to consider using ECLCCE. In order to work in "One Click" mode with CCE, DVD-RB requires a version of CCE that supports command line options. ECLCCE includes a capability to add command line options to Trial and older (v2.50) versions.
5. As actions are performed you will see status updates in the DVD-RB Status box. Please note that CCE can take some time to encode -- so you may want to come back later. I like to let movies run overnight. Timing depends upon a lot of parameters including processor speed and number of passes.
6. When completed -- simply use any burning package (such as B's Recorder Gold, RecordNow Max, Nero or burnatonce) -- there is usually a package provided with your DVD Burner. You must write two directories (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS), that will exist in the "Working Path" you specified in step 3.
***** METHOD TWO *****
4.Now you can press Prepare to start the preparation step. Or, in case you have activated One Pass Mode, there's just one button: Transcode. Press it and when DVD-RB is done, all that remains to be done is burn the DVD. The preparation step involves the following:
Create DVD2AVI project files from all video sources.
Create AviSynth scripts for each video cell. Those files are stored in DVD2AVS in the Working Path (thus in our example D:TEMPDVD2AVS).
DVD-RB then calculates a number of parameters for video encoding and stores them in an ecl file (CCE project file)
A REBUILDER.INI file is created, containing information how to put everything back together
There's yet another option: Batch Processing allows you to encode multiple movies after each other, without any manual interaction. To activate Batch Processing, press Files - Batch Processing.

This enlarges the main window:

To be able to add a project to the batch processing list, you have to set up everything, then instead of starting to encode, save the project (File - Save Project). Repeat this for all all your movies, then press Add, and select one project file after another until all have been added. Finally, press Process to get the whole process started. All movies will then be encoded in One Click Mode.
While DVD-RB is working, you'll see two progress bars:

Progress indicates the progress for the job DVD-RB is currently working on (for instance create a DVD2AVI project file for a certain VTS set), and Overall for the overall progress.
You'll also see a lot of messages as DVD-RB will write out a lot of information about what it is doing.
Once the first step has been concluded, the Encode button becomes active. Press it to start the encoding phase.
This will take quite a while. Once done, the Rebuild button will become active. Press it to start the 3rd step.

Once this step has completed, you'll find a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directory in your Working Path (in our example: D:TEMPVIDEO_TS and D:TEMPAUDIO_TS).
There are many programs to burn a DVD. Either use your favorite DVD burning tool, BURNATONCE (free for personal use) or use DVD Decrypter a fully featured and free of charge solution.
