| In the death metal scene there are originators and then there innovators, and its not a common thing to find a band who accomplishes both. Konkhra's patented "death n' roll" comes full circle here as they blend brutal, lead-heavy, skull crushing riffs with amazing solos, courtesy of guitar god James Murphy. Also, as always with Anders, vocals are sublime, as he has a really original voice. And all this goes without mentioning the pummeling and driving rythms of Kontos, and the rumbling basslines of Christensen. I seriously urge anyone of sound musical taste to try these guys out, and Weed Out The Weak is a great start. Also, be sure to check out Sexual Affective Disorder, Spit or Swallow, Come Down Cold, and a particularly impressive Live Eraser, in my opinion the best live death metal album ever. My personal favorite band as they combine every aspect of brutality I crave. |
