Pathologist is a Czech deathgrind/goregrind band from Ostrava formed in 1990. The musical style of the band is compared with early Carcass works. Their first noisecore demos contained large amount of songs like the early Anal Cunt releases.

In 2008, the band announced they would be reuniting for a world tour and releasing a new EP of remixes and covers entitled "Performances In The Theatre". However, the band's tour fell apart, with the gigs being under promoted, and a lack of accommodation. Then, on the eve of the tour of the Americas, the band's drummer Stan fell ill with pneumonia, and the tour was cancelled. They then decided afterward to re-book the tour and release a free download single in addition to their upcoming "Under The Mortician's Knife" EP, as an apology to their fans.

The band also stated that they would be re-releasing their back catalogue, and re-releasing their VHS on DVD, as well as some other releases of new material. There is speculation there will also be a new album.
