Island have just signed to Vendlus and this is their debut professional release. I don't quite know how to describe these guys yet, as I only got the CD in the post this morning, but a vague definition would be progressive metal with a big death metal influence, with a large variety of vocal styles and some nice acoustic guitar passages. Listening to some of the records on the myspace page, who knows what the next releases will bring. Anyway, this is how the label describes this release:

ISLAND was formed back in 2003 by Christian Kolf (Valborg, Woburn House), Patrick Schroeder and Florian Toyka (Klabautamann, Woburn House). The CD includes two cult EP's that have never been professionally released before. Spread among the fans on CD-R's, these EP's created a devoted following for the band and an overwhelming demand for their music. Both EP's have been professionally remastered. - Vendlus
