Brutal deathcore from USA, debut full-length album released in 2008.

Formed in 2005 in California, USA, with current line-up:
Chris - Guitars
Arde - Guitars/Vocals
Jake - Bass
David Montenegro - Vocals
Chason Westmoreland - Drums
This band plays how deathcore is supposed to be done! None of those generic ass breakdowns that make up three minutes of every song. None of those faggot ass fucks attempting to growl, and none of that retarded pig squealing. A deathcore band that actually has talent, who would have thought.

| "Volatile Existence" is the debut offering from San Diego's Burning The Masses, who take influence from the all out grind of Cannibal Corpse, and mix it with the technicality of Between The Buried And Me, all played with the same brutality and youthful intensity of Job For A Cowboy. |

Review of Burning The Masses's EP released in 2007 under thee same name as the album:
Quote:
The album starts off with a nice ambient track called Doppelganger, which sets the mood perfectly and you know that the next track will kick off with a bang, and it does! Starting off with a nice scream and some great double bass work and furious riffing. A few seconds in we hear a breakdown, thankfully it only lasts about 5 seconds. (deathcore bands take note!) After Moltres we come to the first gem of the album, starts off with really nice melodic guitar leads and then erupts into a fury of bass drumming, accompanied by some brutal growling. Halfway in we get to hear the real talent of this band. Their fucking amazing solos! Every fucking solo that is played sounds like it was done by god himself, they're played exceptionally well with lots of great finger tapping.
Halfway through the album you can start to really hear the Necrophagist influence these guys have. Malevolent Retrospect shows it the most so far, the first one minute of the song sounds like it came straight from Necrophagist themselves. The next obvious influence is the song Brace For Departure, which can be compared to Necrophagist's Foul Body Autopsy, nothing but an onslaught on the listeners ears of brutality and technicality.
As the EP comes to an end we finally come to the crowning jewel. Deprived of Purity. Everything about this track screams masterpiece. Halfway through the song we are treated to a short solo that is just a teaser for what is to come. At about two minutes left we hear the start of one of the most memorable solos I have ever heard. This is finger tapping at its best, your ears will explode and you will be strumming your air guitar right along with the solo. Words cannot explain how perfectly done this solo is. |
