-task-manager KILL leftover traces: yupdate.exe and Yahoo_Messenger.exe
after exiting. this is a small flaw with most thinstall packages.

privacy / nosy spouse or boss:

\Thinstall\ (but not the folder itself), or delete
\Thinstall\Yahoo\%ProgramFilesDir%\Yahoo!\Messenger
to cover up tracks of whom you talk to.

ok, I over reached. After spending some time studying thinstall and how it interacts with yahoo messenger I see that this behavior is not unusual. It seems that it somehow interacted with the other programs in a way that was unexpected and on my personal system unpleasant. I have since come to understand the full usage of thinstall and how to make my own. Sorry to the uploader for my earlier comment. Carry on and thanks for giving me a reason to learn something new.

there seems to be some issues with this. the program seem to make copies of .exe files you run (for instance I suddenly had FIREFOX.exe running from the thinstall folder instead of firefox.exe running from the install folder. I found this was the case with about 3 programs and also found that even after killing the yahoo messenger exe file in task manager there was still 2 svchost.exe processes running from the thinstall directory and hogging the cpu. has anyone else noticed this? download process explorer from sysinternals.com and check for yourself. I suspect this is a virus of sorts. If I am wrong than please explain why your portable version of this program would do these kinds of changes. Once I deleted the program securely all went back to normal.
