This Gigatorrent was posted on demonoid by cimmerian32 (I believe).

Having some issues, I did not downloaded it
at that time due to its big size.
When the same torrent  was posted on torrentbox by ppuwxe, demonoid went down.  

It is 28.25 GB and more than 1500 issues plus
extras in over 1800 files. Maybe the biggest
torrent in the world, and also the hardest to
seed. So many peers and seeds are needed to keep
it alive.

2000 AD is a weekly British science fiction-oriented comic. As a comics anthology it serialises a number of separate stories each "prog" and was first published by IPC Magazines in 1977, the first issue dated February 26. IPC, later Fleetway, continued to produce the title until 2000, when it was bought by Rebellion Developments. Due in part to its weekly publication schedule, it is one of only a few comics to surpass 1,500 issues.

It is most noted for its Judge Dredd stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Bryan Talbot, Brian Bolland and Mike McMahon.

Another week on and just up to 4.05GB. it's gonna take a while. Just 2 seeders on this torrent. I will consider uploading these in batches of 100 if there's interest, it's got to be better than this.

OK Guys, it's been about a week and I've downloaded 3.14GB of this beast, it'll be 10 weeks for this to complete at the current rate.

Just started this one from scratch so we'll see how long it takes to complete - i'll keep updating as we go along.
After 5 minutes connected, getting a steady 40kb's a second download rate, estimate it'll take 14 days approx to complete!

my biggest was x-files (the tv show) all 9 seasons at once and the was 69gig, i was downloadding it for about 7months on a 2mb dsl setup

before that it was M*A*S*H (tv show) all seasons at once at 58gig

biggest comic download ive done was the uncanny x-man #1-#500 think that was about 25gig, im still hafe way thou readding them and i LOVE them, im on #232 now, but ive also been downloading the new uncannys as they come out so when i get uptodate i will have the newist to read

BTW, where are these 100GB+ torrents?  I am not saying they don't exist but I have never seen one.  The biggest I have downloaded was the Hogan's Heroes collection from dejaview which was 67GB.  Please fill me in.

Yes, we all know it is not the biggest torrent, but it is one of the biggest comic torrents around, and that's a fact!!!

They can quibble about sizes, but this, Sir is still a torrent to be reckoned with! It was not just a big torrent it was the culmination of a project to complete the scanning of this title.
I didn't DL it either as I had been keeping up with the posts in the race to scan it all, but it is a symbol of what made the old demonoid comics group great. They scanned. they banded together to do projects like this.. sigh:

BTW since the boys started comparing sizes, when I was first starting out I DL'd a large Batman torrent from demonoid. It's over 32gb. That's probably the biggest comics torrent I've seen. I still have the torrent file and I see it was actually tracked by zcult but it had the "from Demonoid" file. I still think big torrents are a mistake - not many can or will seed a 100gb torrent but guess what? This thing is at least 2 years old, this tracker was gone even before zcult had to stop DC torrents, and yet with dht I still see 2 seeds and 18 peers - make that 3 seeders and 19 peers - probably more..

It does not include Batman or Detective. It's all one shot's and mini's and short series & Brave and the Bold

If there is interest in trying to DL this by DHT I could post it somewhere - not here as I don't think a dht only torrent is something LD would be happy to see here. Or pm me and I'll put it on rapidshare or something and send you the link.

thre's another torrent with the 1537->1566 issues, its posted on Zcult.

btw... if anyone has space issues, just dl 100 issues and read while seeding, then delete the torrent and start over with anoter 100 issues, due to the way pieces get dled you'll complete a 100 issues batch with a 1.2 1.4 ratio, and that's before finishing reading the last 100. (thats what i've been doing for the last month )

That is why I wrote "perhaps"...

I'll say instead, with some certainty,  this is the biggest torrent I have ever seen, and probably the biggest comics torrent.
