Bookmark and Share Download   Marvel Chronology 1997/07[h33t][PeteThePIPster]
Here are the Marvel comics dated July 1997.

This is the first of nine months, ending with March 1998, which have been previously uploaded following the original Chronology run by Chuck.

As a result things were done differently by the various uploaders.

Here are the changes which I have made to bring the months more into line with the way the previous months were presented:

These titles have been moved to other Chronology torrents in 1997:
Casper 2
Journey Into Mystery 505-510
Marvel Vision 16-18
Wildcats/X-Men Golden Age
Wildcats/X-Men Silver Age
X-Force/Cable Annual '97 (This was moved to 1997/00 but I have now added it to 1997/08 with Chronology numbering)

Two titles, which were in this torrent originally, are included now as a Fill for the Chronology in Nov/Dec 1996:
Journey Into Mystery 503 & 504

One title has been moved to a file in the 1997/12 torrent called Additional Files:
Dr Who Magazine 254(excerpt)
I don't know why this was included in the first place. Although published by Marvel in the UK the Dr Who Magazine is now up to 400+ issues and has never been a part of the Chronology. Rather than remove it completely I have placed all three of these magazines from the Jul-Dec torrents in the Additional Files. I leave it up to you what you decide to do with it.

In addition all the comics are now numbered as a continuation of the previous months.

This month is the Flashback month so the normal issue numbers return in August.

Thanks to all the scanners and uploaders who have made these comics available, and as always massive thanks to Chuck for starting the Chronology in the first place.

Enjoy the comics, and please seed for as long as possible and let's keep the Chronology alive!

Pete

I would agree with the comments you both make, citaltras and diesmurfdie, about including all comics published by Marvel, that's why I left the Dr Who excerpts in rather than taking them out completely. The problem with publications by Marvel from outside the USA is availability - I have been looking for the Hulk story in Smash from the sixties for a while with no success, for example - and I have the Silver Surfer story from Nova (France) but it still needs translating.

Someone was scanning the Spider-Man weekly stories but they stopped a while ago.

As for Dr Who so many stories were published before Marvel started them I am of the opinion they deserve a separate torrent of their own.

Thanks for the detailed torrent description
and explanation of all changes with respect to previous
torrents by diesmurfdie and the Marvel Chronology Cooperative. I would also agree on their goal of posting everything published by Marvel, like on the DC  chronology.

Thanks again Pete for all that you do!!!

Hi Pete, since you asked:  I put in the Dr. Who because, as you said, it was published by Marvel.  I wanted to be as complete as possible, and that meant putting in everything Marvel published.  I didn't feel bound by what had or hadn't been included in previous torrents. By the way, since the torrent was originally posted a number of the missing Dr. Who magazines have been scanned c2c.  Good luck with the project.
