VanDyke SecureCRT v6.0.2 Build 260 (April 24, 200 - is a 32-bit terminal emulator designed for Internet and Intranet use with support for Secure Shell (SSH). SecureCRT also supports the telnet and rlogin protocols. SecureCRT supports both SSH1 and SSH2 protocols. SSH2 support for this release provides AES, 3DES, RC4, Blowfish, and Twofish ciphers, with password authentication and public-key authentication.
SecureCRT - is ideal for connecting to remote systems running UNIX and VMS as well as the many BBSs and databases that are now available via the Internet. Remote sites can be easily accessed by just entering a hostname. SecureCRT delivers quality VT100, VT102, VT220, Linux, SCOANSI, ANSI and Wyse 50/60 terminal emulations. All of SecureCRT's emulations support ANSI color.
Other SecureCRT features include reorganized session preferences for easier access, session folders to manage hundreds of sessions, ActiveX scripting support for VBScript and other scripting languages, and secure file transfer, using either the VCP command-line application or ZModem within SecureCRT. Named sessions, auto logon, printing, emacs mode, and SOCKS firewall support are also popular features.
New in SecureCRT v6.0:
- Move tabs in and out of windows: Send an active tab to a new SecureCRT window, clone a tabbed session in a new window, or drag and drop between SecureCRT windows. This makes it easy to send a tabbed session to a new window, view the output of two sessions at the same time, and then drag the session back in.
- Button bar: Map buttons to configuration commands or actions, such as sending strings, running scripts, menu functions, and protocol commands. You can also create different button bars for specific sessions or operations.
Launch external programs: Launch external programs (like your favorite editor, cmd.exe, or regedit) on the local machine through mapped keys and buttons on the button bar, reducing the number of context switches you need to make.
- Autoreconnect prompt and countdown in session window:
The autoreconnect prompt and countdown are now displayed in the session window instead of in a dialog, allowing connected sessions to be used while a disconnected session is trying to reconnect.
- Use environment variables in paths: You can now use environment variables like APPDATA, TEMP, and USERPROFILE in paths specified in SecureCRT global and session options, making it easier to move/copy settings to other machines and to create configurations that will work for multiple users.
- Support for alpha transparency: Specify the transparency level for the active and inactive windows so that you can view what's behind a SecureCRT window or easily compare the contents of two SecureCRT windows.
- New toolbar and menu bar themes: The toolbar and menu bar now use Windows display themes.
- Customize the toolbar and menu: New dialog supports dragging and dropping toolbar and menu items so that it's easy to modify the toolbar and menu to suit your needs.
- Support for U3 smart drives: When installed to a U3 smart drive using the SecureCRT U3 installer, SecureCRT saves configuration and settings to the U3 drive, making it completely portable.
- Combined installer option for SecureCRT and SecureFX: An installer that installs both SecureCRT and SecureFX is now available. Both clients and their shared DLLs are installed into the same folder, making it easy to install and keep SecureFX SecureCRT and in sync.
- MSI installers: MSI support allows you to distribute the applications through your distributions server using Group Policy and to automate installs through SMS or other install programs.
- Session locking: Lock sessions with a password while connected. While a session is locked, it cannot be typed in or closed.
- Check for product updates: An optional monthly pop-up dialog allows you to check for product updates.
