| What is Windows XP Ultimate Edition?
Windows XP Ultimate Edition is a custom Windows XP Professional Edition that includes
several software integrated as components that in my point of view should of have always
been part of windows.
This is not an official release from Microsoft.
Why is the ISO 4GB?
There are a couple of things that make the ISO that big.
Here are the most relevant:
* Dreamscene Wallpapers: about 1GB
* Nero: about 660MB
* Windows Dancers: about 550MB
* Frameworks: about 280MB
Windows XP Ultimate DreamScenes and Internet Explorer 8?
XP Ultimate Dreamscenes are based on IE's Active Desktop technology.
With IE8, microsoft marks the abandoning of Active Desktop in detriment of web slices.
This will cause the following dreamscene issues to XP Ultimate users running IE8:
* First Dreamscene will load fine. Following dreamscenes won't load.
Workaround: Load the desired dreamscene and then log off and on again. Upon login on
again the previously loaded new dreamscene will show up.
* With IE8, XP Ultimate Dreamscenes will use more CPU than usually with IE7.
I have Realtek HDA, but my sound doesn't work?
Well, XP SP3 doesn't fully support the Realtek HDA Bus so, you'll have to install the HDA
Bus HotFix (KB835221) first.
After that you'll have to install the drivers for your sound card.

- Changed TCP/IP Half Open Connections to virtually unlimited
- Enabled RDP Concurrent Connections
- Updated Microsoft Update Agent
- Updated Windows Update Agent
- Updated TrueTransparency (new version with new skin and blurred effect)
- Updated DirectX to August 2009 Redist
- Updated Java
- Updated Flash plugin
- Updated TrueTransparency
- Updated Windows Live Contacts component
- Updated Windows Live Mail
- Updated Windows Live Mail Spam Filter
- Updated Windows Live Messenger
- Updated Windows Live Photo Gallery
- Updated CCleaner
- Updated AVG
First make sure you have a backup of your documents, pictures, videos.... and the XP
drivers for your hardware.
Windows XP Ultimate only has the standard XP SP3 drivers included plus the Sata/Raid driver
pack.
- Burn the ISO to DVD.
- Restart computer from DVD and install from there.
- Reply to requested information like: partition to install, input language, computer
name, network settings, user names...
A CLEAN INSTALL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO TAKE ADVANTADGE OF ALL FEATURES AND
CONFIGURATIONS.
It is also recommended to Disconnect any external USB MassStorage devices (HDDs, Flash
Drives, ...) before starting the install process and connect only after complete
installation.

I spoke too soon on this one. However the 4.5 version hasn't failed in anyway since loaded on three of my computers So I strongly suggest using XP Ultimate version 4.5 by Johnny. It's very stable,fast and reliable.

I guess I should mention that it's just V.4.6 that gives me trouble loading Nero. V4.5 works aces. |

This works great with one exception ....Nero never loads.So to get around this I just deleted the Nero folder in programs and re-downloaded and installed it.
This version of XP has been the winng favourite with everyone I know. It's clean ,fast,super reliable and has that nice sidebar Nero Copy Gadget that makes it so handy.(The only sidebar that also works without any glitches too!)
