Alright folks, I know a lot of you have probably played The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion.  Some of you that are closer to my heart might have even played the third Elder Scrolls game, Morrowind.  But ask yourselves, how many of you have played the predecessors?  You guys thought Oblivion was big?  The entire game of Oblivion could probably fit in one of the larger dungeons in Daggerfall.  Simply the biggest RPG I have ever played.  Period.

Some of the older individuals on the site who actually remember this game will probably also remember that it is originally DOS based, which one would assume would make it quite hard to run on modern OS's.  Well thank you to the writers of DFInstall, which is bundled with this release I'm bringing you.  DFInstall is a simple applet that will install the game from the included ISO once you've mounted or burned it.  Not only that, but it will automatically crack the game to be played with no cd, patch the game to run at its best on Windows, and even comes with its own way of installing the proper sound card.

Either way, enjoy a trip back to the early 90's and don't forget to mumble incoherently about how they just don't make games like they used to.

p.s. This install can be a bit tricky on certain systems.  I DO check my torrents comments sections.  Anyone struggling with this leave me a message in the comments or PM me I have no problem helping at all.

@ Hireaper, good to see you over here man, im glad you found us. i saw some of your postings over at mininova on my stuff, and i must say i appreciate it.

i fully planned on getting back to you asap but the site went down shortly after your last comment.

anyway, i wont lie, the description of your problem is a little vague.

Daggerfall *is* a *difficult* game to get working properly on modern OS's, but it can be done.  i also wont say im a 100% master at it, i even struggle getting it to run on some of my buddie's boxes.

id say start here.

aggerfall target=_blank>http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfallaggerfall

down on the bottom of the page, theres a "modding and tech support" section that has multiple avenues on getting up and running on newer OS's.

best way i can think of, outside of those i just listed, would be a virtual machine of Win 95 or 98.  many many torrents can be found here for that kind of stuff.  anyway, before i ramble on and make my torrent comment section even more unreadable, ill stop

again, good to see you on the h33t, bro.

ok few things, the .rar you actually unzipped? Thats an add on pack of fixes and additional content made by users for the game.  Completely unnecessary, but fun. So that's why your file size is so much bigger.  Second, that file named "dagger"? Thats the iso.  Not the FOLDER named dagger, cause there is one of those too, but the big 533 meg "dagger" file.  If you dont have daemon tools installed correctly sometimes iso's show up as rar files however, i've noticed.  Your file associations may be messed up.  Try another virtual drive program if you got it. (i use d. tools, poweriso, and magic iso.)   For this particular iso, you getting the "filename not found" is normal, at times. usually that is signifying the install "splash" screen starting up, but if it does you'll notice there's no graphic.  That's the missing file name.  Anyway, you're not trying to install through the regular cd install program anyway, (unless you're actually running win3.x or something, i just assume everyone here has xp or newer, remember this is a DOS based game, originally.) so, once the disc is mounted, run DFInstall. its a normal windows installshield proggy that will take care of the rest for you.  Also, that readme i included with the package should be able to help too!  Good luck! Lemme know if there are other problems.

My file is actually 1.04 gigabytes. I was messin around in the file trying to figure out how to get it to work and I unzipped a file that added to the total size of the file. The file should have been complete because when I downloaded it I checked the size of the file after the torrent was complete. I also let it seed for quite a while. For some reason some of the files had a Winrar icon. Why would it download as a winrar file? I went into winrar and changed the settings so that the file was not recognized as winrar. After that there was a "Dagger" file that was listed as iso. When I try to mount it to daemon tools I get an error message saying that "an unnamed file was not found". Frustrating...

Now I'm the one that's confused.  No this is a standalone game, you do not need Arena to play it. although i recommend you check it out anyway . And as far as "is there an iso?" .  Um... you may not have finished downloading the whole torrent or something, look at the torrent size, the full torrent is 535.11 MB.  Which contains one folder which has the iso in it.  REAL hard to miss.  I'd say check again, make sure you didn't miss downloading a file.  If there is further problems, lemme know.

I am having trouble getting this to work. Do I need the original Elder Scrolls to add on? Is there and ISO file in this bundle? I can't locate an ISO file. Any help would be appreciated.
