Dying Fetus are an American death metal band, presently noteworthy for their virtuosity and their dual mid-range and gurgling vocals. The band is known for their outspoken political views, and for being one of the few death metal bands who follow a political nature. Earlier lyrics showcased graphically gory themes
The most recent album, War of Attrition was released in March 2007, and it has been received warmly by the band’s original fanbase as a return to form. However, it is also perhaps the band's most politically-charged album yet: themes include attacking reality TV, the war on terrorism, racial ignorance, and the flaws in the criminal justice system. Songs include “Homicidal Retribution,” “Raping the System” and “Parasites of Catastrophe.” Dying Fetus’ second music video was made for “Homicidal Retribution”, which has found moderate airing on YouTube, another tool helping to spread their sound.
