Earth
Earth is an American drone band based in Seattle, Washington. Although they have played various styles of music, they are best known as pioneers of a minimalistic, long, and repetitive form of heavy music known as drone doom.
Dylan Carlson founded the band in 1990 along with Slim Moon and Greg Babior, taking the title "Earth" from Black Sabbath's original name. Carlson has remained the core of the band's line-up throughout its changes. Outside of the underground music world, Carlson is perhaps best known for having been a friend of grunge music icon Kurt Cobain, as well as the person who
purchased the gun that Cobain later used to commit suicide. After Earth had moved to Seattle, Cobain sang lead vocals in the song "Divine and Bright", from a demo included on the re-release of the live album Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars.
The drone doom band Sunn O))), who formed as a tribute to Earth, were named after Earth's (and therefore Sunn O)))'s) amplifiers of choice, Sunn. Sunn O))) also has a song entitled "Dylan Carlson" on its demo). The drone doom supergroup Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine are named after the second song from Earth's first full-length album, Earth 2: Special Low-Frequency Version.

Tribes of Neurot is an experimental dark ambient band that utilizes tribal-like sounds into their music.
Tribes of Neurot is a side project of Neurosis that consists of all the members of Neurosis along with additional musicians. The music explores many of the same themes that Neurosis does but from a radically different angle. Whereas Neurosis has structured songs, Tribes of Neurot has given them the freedom to explore practically anything in music and sound, such as 2002's Adaption and Survival, which consists entirely of insect noises recorded and mixed to create something that sounds entirely different.
Many of their releases coincide with Neurosis releases, such as Silver Blood Transmission and Neurosis' Through Silver in Blood.
Tribes of Neurot's Grace epitomizes this, released alongside Neurosis' Times of Grace, the two discs are meant to be played simultaneously for an enhanced experience that neither disc
delivers on its own.
