The copy of Beast #3 in this torrent is corrupted. Please accept my humble apologies for it's inclusion. I have made arrangements for a replacement to be included in a Marvel Chronology Cooperative torrent. Thanks for catching it impala (sincerely thank you).
On another note, the statement was made that this torrent is missing 4 available July issues. After extensive research, I believe that statement to be incorrect. Some books listed by the online data bases as July issues have other months printed on their covers. Those are the only candidates for missing scanned issues I could find, and they don't belong in this torrent. If you know of any actual missing books, please tell me. I'll be very happy to publicly eat crow.
Finally, thank you for all the supportive comments. They are very much appreciated. |

I pretty much feel that same
a few people seems to want to put themselves on pedastals and are above reproach and THEY can be snarky and rude in their torrent desription as well
how often have we seen cyager put down the very people he makes the posts for
I for one could do without his attitude
The minute someone else tries to do something he craps all over it
and if anyone defended that person he made it a personal mission to attack them where ever they went in this forum
if her feels offended by DSD's descrpition
then grow a thicker skin.--best advice for you cyager.. some people may not come out and call you out for your attitude fearing you won't continue.
But you really do need to be told |

Thank, you DSD. I hope you continue to upload whatever you want. The attitude some here show does not encourage me, but yours does. If I ever upload a comic here again it will be because of people like you.

I'm just going to throw some things out here, in the hopes that it will put and end to some stuff and let us get back to being happy file-sharing fools.
1. Chuck invited anyone to pick up the chrono. Can't hold it against DSD for doing so. Chuck clearly doesn't, nobody else should either.
2. DSD not only has apologized for the tone of his description, he actively sought criticism from people he trusts after it became apparent there might be a problem. Let's give him credit for being a man about that, eh?
3. Chuck really doesn't care if you download this. Trust me on that. He's not married to the Chronology, and it's not cheating on him with you. And nothing is stopping you from downloading his torrents if he decides to start again.
4. Most importantly, nobody should ever be criticized for making a good-faith effort to share content. Ever. You can provide advice behind the scenes. You can point out missing or broken items, or better yet provide them. You can offer to help. But peeing on someone's shoes because you don't like their work or the fact that they're doing it is simply not acceptable. This entire setup works on respect and courtesy, and when it goes wrong is when people are greedy selfish jerks. Don't be that guy. People get angry and stop uploading because they're tired of people being jerks, then what are you going to download? |
| kad032000 | 27/06/2008 11.38.02 |
Meaning both DSD AND cyager? I'm grateful for both! |
| kad032000 | 27/06/2008 11.37.02 |
| Yikes. Can't we just appreciate everyone's contributions? |
| crispengray | 26/06/2008 19.38.22 |
I appreciate DSD's work in putting this out there and for sharing what he has. That's what we're all here for... sharing what we've got.
Should Chuck continue with his chronology, I will be thrilled, and will likely still download them... I know his work is quality, and I always appreciate all his hard work. That doesn't change the fact that some of these files I lack, and I'd appreciate having.
So... thanks, DSD. It doesn't diminish what Chuck does at all, and it's appreciated. |

This is getting to be like debating politics or religion (BTW i'm Republican and a Baptist).
Let me clarify this topic once and for all.
1. These comics are not mine alone (At least the digital ones). My paper ones are mine alone.
2. I don't care who decides to do a Marvel Chronology. If someone can do it better then more power to them. I never said mine was the best or the definitive collection, but I did spend thousands of hours putting this together and spared no expense in finding the most accurate order that these were issued in. Up until the time I decided to do this project, no one else even made an attempt, with the exception of the Disk collection which left out everything except the main characters.
3. Who puts half a roof on their house, accepts half of their wages or settles for a portion of what they are entitled to. The same should be expected of the Marvel Chronology. When it was brought to my attention that something was missing I immediately added it to a fix torrent. If someone else is going to pick up the mantle and continue the chronology then all I ask is that they put into it the effort to make it complete.
4. What really irritates me the most is these johnny-come-lately posters who, after downloading from everyone else who has done the majority of the work, have the gall to critize others for what they decide to do or not to do. Citaltras sits safely in Spain where no one is going to be able to procecute him for posting and who seems to have an opinion about everything and thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. He forgets that he picked up most of his Golden Age comics from Nerone and myself when we were posting on Demonoid. To his defense, his reposting of the Marvel Comics that were put out in pdf format, is a great help after he took the time to convert them to cbr-cbz format.
5. Finally where did I ever post that I would NEVER AGAIN post the Marvel Chronology. I can't find it????
I did say that I was stopping it for now and that I would sit back and see what happens. As for making the chronology available to those who have helped beyond the call of duty, that is for me to decide. Hell, over 300 people who downloaded the chronology couldn't even be bothered to give a thank you for what they took for free, so why should I give a rats a-- what they think. Anyone who doesn't pay for what they get should keep their mouths shut and just be thankful for anything that is made available to them. I don't owe anyone on this site anything. As far as the comment that the chronology is not complete because I left out Western and Romance (and of course the issues of Tales of Suspense, Strange Tales and Tales to Astonish, it clearly stated in the 61-63 torrent that the collection began with the Fantastic Four and at the time most of the Western and Romance were not (and are still not) available. Maybe my English was too hard for people like Citaltras to understand. |
| mihaip41 | 24/06/2008 09.34.04 |
In DC comics chronlology there are two or three people who work together to finish it and we all appreciate this, because it is hard.Someone started, someone else continued...
I think here every effort must be appreciated and cyager deserved the right to start this work. |
| citaltras | 24/06/2008 07.18.49 |
Let me draw my opinion about some points raised here:
1) Cyager Chronology is not the "official" one, not it is the definitive one, since it is not complete. As he stated, he is missing mainly Western and Romance comics from 1960-1980. The reasons he gives are that not all of them have been scanned or they are not essential for the Marvel Universe. That is OK if you only want to include complete series, but then why Planet of the Apes or some Hanna Barbera titles (unless Yogi Bear meets Hulk) or some of the Marvel Magazines? (BTW you can get some of the Western or Romance series from my list of torrents).
2) The "oficial" chrono for 1961-63 is also missing non-superhero issues of Tales to Astonish,Tales of suspense and other similar collections.
3) I don't care about the labeling of issues, since the numbering system used by Cyager69 is just ALPHABETIC. So within a month it is not following the chronological or logical reading order. The numbers just count the number of issues. If an update of the missing series is included later, all the numbering scheme breaks down.
4) If DieSmurfDie miss some issues nobody can identify, then they are for sure not important for the Marvel Universe, and can be safely skipped and added later in a fills torrent without loss of continuity.
5) Finally Cyager69 already stated many times that he is not continuing the chronology, and asked others to continue. As DieSmurfDie demonstrated, there are others who can and are willing to continue. If Cyager69 if going to change opinion, I would ask him to please say it clearly NOW. Otherwise we could end with two or three parallel chronologies around there.

I see the audience is split about whether this should have happened or not. I'd like to see cyager finish his chronology as well. He has, however, made it clear that he has quit and invited others to try.
I have also been chastised by a number of people for the tone of my description. I see their point and apologize for the tone of my comments. I was trying to make a point, and what I accomplished was to antagonize some people. Although by the nature of this torrent and the passions involved, I'm not sure anything I might have said would have had a different result.
So why, you ask, did I feel obligated to "poke the bear." Well, the biggest thing is I find the idea of a special cadre of "favorite status" leechers who will get the remainder, while everyone else is left without very difficult to swallow. Your opinion may differ. So be it.
Cyager stated that the torrent is missing 4 issues. I guess that means 4 comics published with July 1997 cover dates that I couldn't identify. I included Marvel Vision which was not in Cyager's June torrent, and did not include two issues that have August cover dates but that various sources report as being July books. But, I must admit, I haven't found a comprehensive resource as of yet. Any help with that would be appreciated.

Thank you for posting these issues and picking up where cyager left off. Although I hope cyager will resume posting installments of his chronology, I believe in better something than nothing. I'm just interested in getting the comics and not taking sides in what is apparently some kind of insider debate. You're all good people, as far as I'm concerned.

| SmokeBogey | 24/06/2008 00.30.59 |
Oh, and since I commented on this post, I obligated myself to downloading at least part of it. I found a couple books that I have better/more complete copies of, I am willing to contribute them to your cause DSD, provided Chuck continues to be unconcerned with your efforts. All in all though, good job |
| SmokeBogey | 24/06/2008 00.18.59 |
I'm confused.
I definitely see Chuck's point of view in regard to the tone of this description; I also see DSD's point of view in responding to the challenge/getting the books out there to those who want them, and not caring what is done with them afterwards.
What I don't get is, if cyager said he isn't posting anymore, and you guys don't have the books, why are you doing your best to discourage someone who wants to get the books out to you?
Cyager never said he didn't want anyone to try to pick up the reins when he quit, regardless to whether he disdains how they try. DSD is making no attempt to go counter to Cyager's wishes, again, regardless to the fact he disagrees with Chuck's opinion.
I think DSD should quit now, and all of you who don't have these books can continue to not have them, but for a different reason.
If you feel DSD is wrong to even try (or you just didn't like his tone), that is your right to feel so. But all of you who were upset when the mininova poster/comicfan pissed Chuck off and he stopped, why you are trying to do the same thing to DSD now is just incomprehensible to me.
Remember, Cyager has all these books, YOU don't. If/when Cyager says he wants no one to try to continue the chronology, you guys will make sense, between now and then, all I see is people trying their hardest to NOT have files shared on a filesharing site. |

I am hoping this will not turn into another turf war
I will also wait for Chuck's version of July 1997.
And if you are reading this Chuck, please keep up the good work. One month is easy to do , a few hundreds is another story |
| enigma68 | 23/06/2008 16.23.24 |
| Thank you for this DieSmurfDie. Whereas I appreciate the hard work cyager69 puts into his torrents and understand his comicfan frustrations and the loyalty allshow him. I don't understand the sniping. If you would prefer to wait for cyager69's post (which I am looking forward to him resuming), then by all means don't download this. But DieSmurf put this torrent together and whether it took 2 hours or 20 I think all efforts to get material out to the masses should be applauded. So again thank you DieSmurf. That's the end of my rant go back to your regular scheduled programming. |
| LordSoth666 | 23/06/2008 15.01.28 |
| Hmmm.. not only does Chuck have to combat posting of his baby on external sites like mininova, but now he has to combat posting of a ripoff on his own home turf. I'll definitely be taking a pass. I will be waiting for the OFFICIAL upload of the next part of CHUCK'S CHUCK'S CHRONOLOGY!!! |
| perezmu | 23/06/2008 14.52.18 |
thanks, but... I'll skip this! |
| elcreative | 23/06/2008 14.34.18 |
And then you miss acrucial part of the chronologies... the numbering scheme... "...that would be work" and in that statement you've conceded to chuck that he has the right to be annoyd when someone else passes his work off as their own. He puts in a lot of hours to give us an easy one-stop source in a logical order (and of the best quality he can find) so shouldn't he be entitled to decide how it's distributed... he's not saying anyone can't have the comics... they can always go get them themselves from multiple sources... all he's said is that he'd like to complete the project before it gets spread around the wider (and less secure) torrenting world.
I will certainly miss his uploads in a big way... I was actually looking forward to being in sight of getting up to date... and others thoughtless (at best) or vindictive actions have put that in jeopardy for all of us.
Good for you for putting a month together in 2 hours!!! but even on that basis 500x2 is still 1,000 hours and chuck does a damn sight more than that. |
| Sith73 | 23/06/2008 12.02.22 |
Not sure why i would download this 2nd rate copy of Cyager's Chronology? I'll rather wait for the real chronology or download it myself and compile it with C2C and good scans. When you did it in 2 hours only show that it's sloppy work and still you brag about it
Didn't think this would happen here on H33t!!!
I'm with you chuck. |
| citaltras | 23/06/2008 09.31.14 |
Thanks for your fast release of this Marvel's July 1997 torrent. Not including the Marvel DVDs scans is not really important, since those collections can be readily downloaded from my list of torrents
http://www.h33t.com/userdetails.php?id=74371
They are very well seeded and everybody here must have then now.
Indy: how did you got the list for July 1997 on comicbookdb.com? I cannot find a year/month search option on the main page.
|
| DieSmurfDie | 23/06/2008 03.33.02 |
| Um, no this does not include the Citaltras' official scans. I put it together from another chronology and where there were missing issues I chose the "best available" if I had a choice. I didn't worry about c2c vs. noads. But if the downloaders care to give feedback on which issues don't meet expectations, I'll commit to a fill torrent (with those 4 missing issues one I figure out what they are) |
| indy | 23/06/2008 02.58.29 |
| Also forgot to mention comicbookdb.com might help out some. Direct link for July 1997. Doesn't separate from different publishers though. |
| indy | 23/06/2008 02.55.22 |
Thanks for July 1997!
A few quick questions though, are these c2c or no-ads versions? Also, are you using the official scanned versions of the main titles (F4, Avengers, ect...) that citralis is uploading? |
| DieSmurfDie | 23/06/2008 02.40.51 |
| Not so much a snub as responding to your challenge. The biggest problem I've had is finding a comprehensive listing of marvel releases by month. Apparently, the source I used was missing issues. I would ask you where the listing is, but that would be a bit much. |
| cyager69 | 23/06/2008 02.21.08 |
| Not bad, you only missed 4 issues for the month. But then you stated that it was all you could find and that you didn't really work at it and basically used someone elses work. One month out of nearly 500. I will at least give you the credit for making a half hearted attempt. Since your posting was a snub at me I thought I'd return the favor. |
