Bookmark and Share Download   The Complete Donald Duck Collection (fantom)

Fantom is a person at zcult. I invited Fantom to cross post here. S/he replied that s/he did not know how but would be happy if I did it. I explained how easy it is, and hopefully Fantom will join us soon but in the meantime I'm cross posting all Fanrtom's past torrents, oldest first. Several are already here posted by others. The descriptions are pasted in from zcult. I made some alterations of formatting and  such.

This has TWO descriptions  because he re-did this torrent  later with revisions The Image in the  first one quite large, I did not hot link it

Description 2
Barks left Disney in 1942 because, a solitary worker at heart, he was unhappy with the studio environment. He wasn't looking for a career in comic books, but was quickly offered steady work in that medium — a series of ten-page gag vehicles for Donald Duck and his nephews in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories. The first appeared in the 31st issue (April, 1943), and Barks continued writing and drawing them until 1966. In this series, Barks developed Donald's character far beyond the one-dimensional bundle of irascibility seen in the animated version.

Quote:
I always felt myself to be an unlucky person like Donald, who is a victim of so many circumstances. But there isn't a person in the United States who couldn't identify with him. He is everything, he is everybody; he makes the same mistakes that we all make. He is sometimes a villain, and he is often a real good guy and at all times he is just a blundering person like the average human being, and I think that is one of the reasons people like the duck.

(Carl Barks, taken from 1975 and 1981 quotes)

Joshua, many thanks as usual.  The stories from Carl Barks are probably my all time favorites since I grew up with those and there is so much more to them than most people probably realize.  His predecessor Al Taliaferro was also great for initially developing Donals, but Barks took it so much further.
