Quote:
Doomsday Refreshment Committee (DRC) is a very popular Underground Project lead by one man, Jerry. Working with 28 years of experiance he has written amazing songs which have grasped a huge fan-base. With friends such as Romell Regulacion from the ever popular Razed in Black, down to Servo.Hatred, it seems DRC has no room for errors and does not need the extra space. Now, with Crown of Thorns on the way, it seems nothing can stop DRC from ripping up the Underground Industrial scene. Now I'm glad to introduce the man behind the insanity, Jerry.

Jerry, you're one of the more popular Industrial projects on VF. How does that make you feel, and what do you see as the reason you have such a large Fanbase?

Well of course I am VERY flattered and I love this site like no other. I think that maybe I offer to fill the gap between the total synth based and harder edged music styles. I guess my work is kind of a "crossover" between the two. I also work very hard to take the time to have a lot of interaction with the fans and members of VF. Its THEM that makes this ALL of this happen for every artist... I never lose site of that.

Who and what do you see as your main source of inspiration?

I would have to say mainly the people and the world around me. My friends are my family and I always hold and keep them close at all times. They keep me grounded and drive me to create a lot of what I do. The world around us all is a crazy place right now... just turn on your TV and try and take it all in.

Growing up who were your favorite artists and why?

Well... I am older than most ppl think. The first music I can remember hearing as a child was Black Sabbath on 8 track... YES...8 TRACK! My parents were pretty much with "the times" and liked lots of the harder edged stuff that was big then. Then I hit the phaze the every kid did back then... KISS. KISS was without a doubt WHY I wanted to get into music. I was always a huge horror fan and KISS sort of brought that into hard rock with the makeup and stage show. Then Van Halen started to boom and after that I started to revisit my darker roots... Sabbath again. From there I got into NEW bands at the time like Fear Factory, Napalm Death, Sepultura and so on. Then in a total turn around I started hanging out with some friends that were big in the GBLT scene. The energy and pulse of the music in the clubs blew me away. That scene led me into the Goth/Industrail and I knew I had found my world. All the people were so BEAUTIFUL and the music was dark and driving.

When did you get into the Industrial Scene? And when was the moment you decided to spawn DRC?

I have heard bands off and on for several years but dove in head first about 8 years ago. D.R.C was something I had in my head for years... but its only like 2 years old.

Having two daughters, and being an artist, it must be tough to balance your attention. How do you manage this?

Being a Daddy is the easiest job I have ever had. My daughters are the world to me and I have very good kids at that. But I do find the time to do music AND be a dad. 80% of the time they are sitting right behind me while I write and record, telling me if something "sux" or not... lol.

How did you discover VF? And how hard or easy was it to decide to join?

I found VF buy following a link on some guys profile on another site... once I looked around I knew I had found my home. I had a personal profile on VF before my music one but I have like 6 profiles to edit and update so I dropped it to have a little less work.

What events drive your music the most?

My life mainly. Events that take place... people I meet.

I remember that you told me you were with a few labels before. What made you decide to go solo?

Well... the internet has changed the world SO much in many ways. You have many places on the net to set up "web stores" and do it your self. I am not against labels at all... just the 2 I was with were not for me.

You're a very kind and warm person. Do you think this draws more people to you and your music?

I do try very hard to have lots of interaction with fans and yes I know for a fact that does have an impact. I edit and run ALL my pages on the net myself. I hear all the time that people cant believe I actually respond to their comments, rate them back and make sign pictures for them.

What do your daughters think of your music?

They LOVE what I do... they are my biggest fans. They have got to do some great things and meet some amazing people like Rob Zombie and got V.I.P for KORN when they were here in Florida last. Who would not like that?
